CGI Bathroom Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide

A full CGI bathroom remodel in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed, and we stock the core CGI-compatible components to keep the job moving without week-long waits on parts. Most owners find us because a shower door roller gave out, a hinge corroded, or the glass panel seals started leaking into the drywall. You know your bathroom is CGI because the glass has that heavier feel, the hardware has a distinctive profile, and something small just failed in a way that’s now threatening the whole room.

We’re an independent contractor, not a CGI dealer, but we’ve worked with their product lines across Fort Lauderdale long enough to know what fails, what’s worth fixing, and when the smarter money goes into a full replacement.

Which CGI Models This Applies To

CGI’s bathroom lineup spans framed, semi-frameless, and frameless shower enclosures, plus a line of glass partition panels for tub surrounds. The compatibility gotcha: CGI hardware changed pitch between their older 6000 Series (thicker 3/8-inch rollers, wider hinge plates) and the newer 7000 Series (slimmer 5/16-inch profile, different mounting hole spacing). If you read the etched corner mark on the glass, it won’t say the series. You need to measure the roller wheel diameter and the hinge plate hole spread, or send us a photo of the profile. We’ll match it.

For OEM parts, CGI’s genuine hardware is good, but certain Fort Lauderdale bathrooms destroy it anyway. Salt air near the beach corridors eats the plated hinge pins and roller bearings. In those cases we recommend a 316 stainless aftermarket equivalent, which holds up better within a mile of the coast. Inland, OEM is fine.

Signs Your CGI Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Shower door drags or sticks at the bottom track. Ten times out of ten, the rollers are flat-spotted or the nylon bearing inside has seized. The door panel gets heavier to move, then it starts dropping. You’ll see a small gap at the top hinge side first.
  • Rust staining or pitting on the hinge barrels and roller brackets. Coastal moisture in Fort Lauderdale is unforgiving on plated hardware. Once the plating breaches, the corrosion works inward and the hinge starts to bind. That’s a replacement, not a polish job.
  • Water seeping under the glass panel or at the wall seam. The silicone bead separating from the tile or the glass panel is the usual culprit. It gets brittle after three to five years in a humid bathroom. Left alone, that water reaches the studs and the floor plate, and then you’re not fixing a door anymore; you’re fixing structure.
  • Glass panel wobbly or springy when pressed. The wall channels and support brackets have loosened, or the bottom track anchors have pulled out of the floor. Every week this stays loose, the panel torques the hinges harder until one fails.
  • Shower door falls off the track or hangs by one roller. This is the end-stage symptom. The roller assembly has failed and the door weight is now on the glass itself. Don’t force it back on. Call us at (754) 354-7423 and leave the door in place until we look at it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A wood double vanity with two mirrors after a bathroom remodel

A standalone CGI part swap, a roller set, hinge pair, or wall channel replacement, lands between $180 and $600 in Fort Lauderdale, depending on whether we’re pulling the panel or working in place. A full shower enclosure retrofitted with new CGI-compatible hardware, including new seals and alignment, runs $1,200 to $4,500. And a complete bathroom remodel with new CGI glass, tile, vanity, fixtures, and plumbing falls in that $9,000 to $28,000 range.

Every quote is line-item. You’ll see the part number or aftermarket equivalent, the material cost, and the labor broken out separately. The written price we hand you before work starts is the price on the invoice. Our workmanship carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the installation isn’t done right, we make it right. In writing, on every job.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely tighten a loose wall channel if you’ve got the right hex key and the glass isn’t under stress. You can also check whether the bottom track anchors are pulling out. What I wouldn’t do is try to hang a CGI glass panel on new rollers by yourself. That’s 80 to 120 pounds of tempered glass, and if the panel shifts while you’re swapping the roller, the edge can bite stone tile and the whole panel turns into gravel. It’s not a strength contest, it’s a leverage problem, and leverage wins.

If your hinge is seized or the door is hanging, that’s our job. Luca Romano and the crew run this the same way every time: written price first, live arrival time, photo updates while we work, and a numbered invoice you pay from a link. Call (754) 354-7423 for a free estimate.
