Abodu Bathroom Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide

If your Abodu bathroom is showing its age, a full remodel in Fort Lauderdale runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed, depending on size and what we’re tearing out. We handle Abodu-compatible bathroom work start to finish: demo, waterproofing, tile, fixtures, and the finish details. Most homeowners call us after noticing grout cracking along the shower pan, a vanity starting to swell at the base, or caulk peeling away from the tub line. Once water gets behind the tile in a humid climate like ours, the clock is ticking on the framing underneath.

Which Abodu Models This Applies To

We work on Abodu’s standard bathroom configurations: the one-bath and two-bath layouts most common in their ADU and compact builds. The key thing to know with Abodu is that their bathroom specs lean on compact clearances, usually a 32-inch to 36-inch shower opening and a 24-inch vanity depth, which means stock big-box replacements often don’t fit without modifying the rough opening. We measure the existing footprint before ordering anything, because the space between the toilet centerline and the shower curb is tighter than most modular bathrooms built in Florida. For OEM versus aftermarket, we’re direct with you: genuine Abodu components cost more and often mean waiting on a parts lead time, while quality aftermarket equivalents from Kohler, Toto, and Moen usually install faster and carry the same or better warranties. We stock aftermarket valve bodies and shower pans on the truck that match Abodu specs, so we’re not guessing at the supply house.

Signs Your Abodu Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Grout cracking along the shower floor or wall seams. Abodu bathrooms use a single-piece fiberglass pan in many models, and the seam where the pan meets the surround is the first place water finds a gap in Florida’s expansion and contraction cycles.
  • Vanity base swelling or delaminating. We see this constantly in Fort Lauderdale rentals and primary homes alike: high humidity plus a small drip at the P-trap and the particleboard core starts to blow out within a few years.
  • Caulk pulling away at the tub or shower threshold. This is almost always a sign the framing below flexed, or the original caulk wasn’t rated for the constant moisture of a South Florida bathroom.
  • Soft spots in the floor around the toilet flange. Abodu’s compact bathrooms mean the flange sits close to the shower, and a slow toilet leak in close quarters rots the subfloor faster than it would in a full-size bath.
  • Exhaust fan failing to pull moisture. If the original fan is undersized for the cubic footage, mold and mildew spread behind the tile where you can’t see it until the grout starts darkening. We recommend a fan rated for the actual room volume plus 20%.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A full bathroom remodel in Fort Lauderdale runs $9,000 to $28,000. Here’s what drives the spread:

  • $9,000 – $12,000: Smaller Abodu bathroom, keep the existing footprint, fiberglass or acrylic shower, single vanity, standard tile, no plumbing moves.
  • $12,000 – $18,000: Mid-size refinish, tile shower with Schluter edge trim (the metal strip that waterproofs where your tile meets the floor), new vanity, upgraded fixtures, new exhaust fan.
  • $18,000 – $28,000: Full gut, moving plumbing, curbless shower with linear drain, heated floor, custom cabinetry, premium tile.

Every quote includes demo, disposal, waterproofing, materials, labor, and our written workmanship warranty. We hand you a written price before a single tool is picked up, and the number on that sheet is the number on your invoice. No change orders without your signature. Luca Romano, Owner and Lead Contractor, checks every Abodu bathroom quote personally before it goes out.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: turn the exhaust fan on and hold a tissue to the grille to see if it pulls, run your hand along the base of the vanity to feel for moisture, and look for cracked or bulging grout lines with a flashlight. What we don’t recommend is pulling tile or opening walls. Once you disturb a shower pan or cut into a wet subfloor, you’re into plumbing and structural territory where a bad patch job means a much bigger bill later. Plus, Abodu bathroom framing is tighter than a site-built home, so there’s less room for error. If you’re seeing active water damage or mold, call us at (754) 354-7423 and we’ll assess it before it spreads further.
