Meet the Fort Lauderdale Team Behind Sawyer Remodel Fort Lauderdale
Every remodel that rolls out of our Fort Lauderdale shop has a name attached to it, and not just the one on the invoice. The people who show up at your door, run the tile saw, and answer the phone at 6 a.m. are the reason the work holds up. We’ve built this crew around one idea: a written price before anything starts, and a team that actually communicates while the dust is flying. Since 2005, Luca Romano has kept the Fort Lauderdale operation lean on purpose. No layers of project managers passing messages. Just the people doing the work, talking to you directly.

Our People

Luca Romano, Owner & Lead Contractor
Luca founded Sawyer Remodel Fort Lauderdale in 2005 after years of watching contractors hand homeowners a verbal estimate and a prayer. He didn’t think that was good enough then, and he doesn’t now. Luca runs every job through The Relay Standard: written price first, live arrival tracking, photo updates before and after, and a digital invoice you pay from a link. He’s the one who walks your bathroom with a level and asks why the original tile guy thought “close enough” was a measurement. Outside of work, he’s usually restoring something old, mostly because he likes the look on people’s faces when they see what was hiding under three layers of bad drywall. Luca’s license and insurance are current, and he’ll show you both before you sign anything.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been with Sawyer Remodel Fort Lauderdale for eleven years, and he’s the guy who makes Schluter edge trim, the metal strip that waterproofs where your tile meets the floor, look like it grew there. He’s certified in Kerdi waterproofing systems and handles the full tile and shower build on most of our Fort Lauderdale bathroom remodels. Marcus is famously quiet until you ask him about grout lines, at which point he will talk for twenty minutes about why a 1/16-inch joint is the only acceptable answer. He grew up fishing the canals in Fort Lauderdale and still swears the best subs come from a place on 17th Street. If Marcus says a wall is out of square, it’s out of square, and he has the photo to prove it.
Elena R., Service Coordinator
Elena has been answering the phones at Sawyer Remodel Fort Lauderdale for six years, and she’s the reason you’ll never leave a voicemail wondering if anyone heard it. She coordinates arrival windows, sends the live tracking links, and keeps the before-and-after photo log updated so you can watch the progress from your desk. Elena knows the Fort Lauderdale permit office schedule better than most inspectors, and she’ll tell you exactly what the city wants before we start pulling permits. She’s a second-generation Fort Lauderdale native who can tell you which neighborhoods flood in a summer storm and which ones stay dry. If you call with a question and Elena doesn’t know the answer, she’ll find it and call you back, usually within the hour.
Danny P., Apprentice
Danny joined us two years ago through a local trade program, and he’s already running cuts and rough framing on smaller Fort Lauderdale projects under Marcus’s eye. He’s working toward his own contractor’s license and spends his off days shadowing our electricians and plumbers so he understands how the systems connect behind the walls. Danny is the one who carefully removes the old fixtures and labels every screw, because he’s had to reassemble enough things to know which parts disappear forever if you don’t. He’s also the guy who finds the coffee shop with the best cafecito near whatever job site we’re on. If Danny asks you a question about how you use your space, answer him, he’s planning your cabinet layout in his head.
One Standard, Every Job
The Relay Standard isn’t a training video we watched once and filed away. It’s the checklist Luca runs on every single project in Fort Lauderdale, from a powder room refresh to a full home renovation. You get a written price before any work starts, so the number you approve is the number on the invoice. You get live arrival time tracking so you know when the crew is pulling up. You get photo updates before and after, because you shouldn’t have to guess what’s happening behind your own walls. And every job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year after the project closes. That promise is backed by the people above, not a call center. Background-checked, uniformed, and accountable. That’s how Fort Lauderdale remodels should work.
