Boral Fence Installation: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide

Boral fence installation in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a complete fence line, depending on linear footage, gate count, and whether we’re pulling existing posts or setting new ones. We stock Boral-compatible rails, pickets, and post hardware, and in most cases we can match your existing profile without waiting on a distributor. Most owners catch the problem early by spotting a sagging gate or a post that’s started leaning after a hard summer storm. You notice the gate dragging a line in the grass, or a section that doesn’t sit plumb anymore, and you realize the footer or the post sleeve has given up.

Which Boral Models This Applies To

Boral’s fence line is built around a few core profiles, but the parts are not as universal as people think. The standard Boral tongue-and-groove picket comes in 6-foot and 8-foot lengths, with a nominal width of 5-1/2 inches and a routing that only seats correctly in Boral’s 2-3/8-inch or 2-1/2-inch aluminum post sleeves. If you’ve got an older Boral fence, check the inside face of a bottom rail for a stamped date lot code. That code tells us which generation of picket we’re matching, because Boral changed their picket profile slightly around 2018. The older profile has a deeper bevel, and you can’t mix old and new pickets on the same line without seeing the difference. When we install in Fort Lauderdale, we match the existing profile whether it’s a current OEM picket or a quality aftermarket equivalent from a supplier like Buffalo Fence Products, who cut their profiles to Boral spec. We’ll always tell you which one you’re getting and why. Sawyer Remodel Fort Lauderdale is an independent contractor, not a Boral dealer, so our recommendation is based on what holds up, not what we’re obligated to push.

Signs Your Boral Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post sleeves pulling away from the concrete footer. In Fort Lauderdale’s sandy soil, footers settle unevenly after heavy rain, which torques the post sleeve at the base. Once you see a gap between the sleeve and the footer, the post has lost its structural lock.
  • Gate dragging or not latching. The hinge-side post has shifted out of square, usually because the footer wasn’t deep enough or the post wasn’t core-filled. A Boral gate carries real weight, and a post that’s 24 inches deep in sand will lean within a season or two.
  • Bottom rail rotting or cracking at the ends. Boral’s composite material resists moisture, but the rail-end caps can trap standing water in Fort Lauderdale’s wet season, especially on low-lying lots near canals or the New River.
  • Pickets rattling in heavy wind. The tongue-and-groove seating loosens when the rail channels widen over time, often because the original install used undersized screws into the post brackets.
  • White salt haze or mineral staining at the post base. That’s salt migration from the concrete footer, which happens faster in coastal air. It’s usually cosmetic, but it tells us the footer is wicking water, and we check it when we’re on site.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a standard Fort Lauderdale lot, expect $3,500 to $9,000 installed. A 50-foot run with one gate and clean post removal sits near the lower end. A 150-foot run with two gates, old footer extraction, and core-filled posts through rocky sections near Victoria Park or Sailboat Bend lands higher. Every quote includes pulling the failed posts, resetting new footers at 30 inches or deeper (not the 18-inch minimum some installers use), setting Boral-matched rails and pickets, and hauling the old material. The written price we give you before work starts is the price you pay, and the work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, on every job. That’s the Relay Standard we run on every project, and we don’t make exceptions because it was a fence instead of a kitchen.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: walk the fence line and look for gaps at the post bases, check your gate hardware for loose lag bolts, and make sure the bottom rails aren’t sitting in standing water. What you shouldn’t do is pull a leaning concrete footer by hand or try to reset a post without core-filling it. The material is heavy, the footers are deeper than they look, and one bad post set throws the entire fence line out of level. Luca Romano and our crew have seen enough Fort Lauderdale fences to know that a post that looks fine on top is often hollow below the soil line. If you want it checked before it gets worse, call (754) 354-7423 and we’ll come look at it. The estimate is free, and you’ll know exactly what it costs before anything gets touched.
